Russian ice dance team of Victoria Sinitsina and Ruslan Zhiganshin took the gold medals at the 2012 World Junior Championships. Sinitsina and Zhiganshin continued their dominance at the junior ice dancing with an excellent performance of Phantom of the Opera free dance.
The young Moscow team executed their difficult elements effortlessly and never lost speed throughout the program. They were not only strong technically with a level four for lifts, twizzles, and the spin, but also have shown a very high level of artistry. They scored 153.81 points overall.
The second place took another Russian team Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin with 147.74 points. The bronze medals earned Americans Alexandra Aldridge and Daniel Eaton with 141.14 points in total.
