Mao Asada announces music for Olympic season

2010 Olympic silver medalist Mao Asada of Japan in the coming Olympic season will skate her free skating program to Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Second Concerto for Piano and Orchestra". This was announced by the athlete at a press conference in the Japanese city of Osaka last Friday.

Tatiana Tarasova, who works with Mao Asada on this program, has already tried Rachmaninoff's theme – at the Vancouver Olympics, where Asada took the silver medal. For the short program the skater chose "Nocturne" by Frederic Chopin.

In mid-April, Asada said that thinks about ending her career after Sochi Olympics, where she will “fight for the gold”. "I would like to make Sochi Olympics the high point of my career and show the best performances." she said.

At the press conference Asada said that does not exclude the possibility of leaving the sport after the Olympics but the final decision has not been made yet.

Also, Mao Asada noted that she is not going to concede the position of the leader of Japan’s national team and plans to compete at the Olympics at her best physical shape.
